WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Northwestern Oklahoma State's Maurice Wright Jr. continues to rack up the postseason accolades as the linebacker has made yet another list, this time an All-American selection.

"Congratulation to Maurice Wright on his D2CCA second-team All-American award," said Head Football Coach Matt Walter. "I'm very proud of him and really happy for him. He truly deserves it and he deserves all the accolades that he will get. We are certainly going to miss him here at Northwestern. We are undeniably grateful for the years he has put in here and the legacy that he will leave behind."

Wright closed out his storied career with a record-breaking season for Rangers, and he is reaping the benefits as he is now able to add a D2CCA second-team All-American selection to the mix.

Wright is Northwestern first All-American since 2015, when Joby Saint Fleur was named a D2Football.com Honorable Mention All-American.

Wright is the second Northwestern football player of the Division II era to earn such an award for Northwestern since becoming full members of the NCAA.

The star Ranger linebacker of Luther, Okla., has now garnered three different honors following his fantastic senior campaign.

He has earned Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Super Region Three and now second-team All-American honor.
