Cherokee school board approves purchase of scoreboard

At a special meeting of the Cherokee school board Jan. 6, after some discussion the board approved purchasing a new scoreboard for $48,000.

All members were present: Kory Littlefield, Kurtis Goodwin, Amber Wilhite, Desiree Gibson and Shane Parker. Superintendent Donna Anderson and principals Ruth Richmond and Jeremy Hickman were also at the meeting.

“Last year we started looking for a scoreboard because we've got electrical problems” with the current one, said Superintendent Anderson. “We'd love to have the video board, we'd love to have all the bells and whistles, but it was about $109,000” f...
