Hollis Dean Henneke was born in Paris, Kentucky, to Orville and Nell Dennis on December 15, 1924, and went to the loving arms of her Savior on January 7, 2020.

Holly married Norman Henneke on December 16, 1943, and they moved to Oklahoma after the war. They had three children: Norma, Dix and Kay. Holly and Norm spent most of their early life together in Goltry, Oklahoma, where he was the superintendent of schools.
