Twelve from Freedom participated in the annual Freedom Hoop Shoot. The six winners advanced to the Lodge 1184 Hoop Shoot Contest last Saturday at the Alva Middle School Gym.
Third graders Bode Smith and Reagan Wilson won the age 8-9 contest. Fourth graders Trenton Welty and Lily Kirkpatrick won the age 10-11 contest and Ally Nusser and Gavin Rhodes won the age 12-13 contest.
The Elks Lodge National Hoop Shoot contest is a free throw program for youth ages 8-13. All public and private schools within the jurisdiction of the local Elk Lodge are invited to participate in the Elks National "Hoop Shoot" Free Throw Contest. The 2020 Hoop Shoot National Finals will take place on April 18 in Chicago.
