On Sunday, Jan. 5, the First Presbyterian Church of Alva congregation had the pleasure of welcoming missionary and pastor Rev. Gordon Edwards to their pulpit. Edwards was the First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater's pastor from 1989 through 2013. He is a current executive presbyter for the Cimarron Presbytery.
In addition, Edwards is involved in a ministry that includes mission trips to Syria annually to provide support to Christians in that area of the world. Previously this ministry has provided financial support for seminarians' books and other Christian education support.
