Right: A chain link fence is coated with ice Friday morning in Alva. Bottom Row-Left: Evergreen branches droop under a burden of ice Friday morning. Middle: Overnight precipitation coats everything including these tree branches. As temperatures rose above freezing, the branches began to drip. Right: By noon Friday, melting ice was dripping from tree branches and roads were already clear. These shaded tree roots still show some patches of ice.

Friday morning Alva residents woke up to an icy winter wonderland. Everyone driving to work early morning had to keep a close eye on the roads, for ice. Those lucky enough to be home got to enjoy the wonderful sights of ice covered landscapes.
