A Waynoka woman has been charged with selling methamphetamine. On Jan. 14 charges were filed in Woods County District Court against Kelly Renee Porter, 50, of Waynoka. She is charged with two felony counts: distribution of controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) and violation of Oklahoma statute via computer.
The first charge is punishable by imprisonment for up to seven years or a fine of up to $100,000 or both. The second is punishable by imprisonment for not more than five years or by a fine of not more than $5,000 or both.
Court records show on Jan. 6, Woods County Deputy Adam Honeyman met with a confidential informant who used a cellphone to contact Porter. The CI indicated possession of “a bill” referring to $100, and Porter allegedly replied, “Come on.”
After checking the CI’s person and vehicle, Honeyman provided the $100 to facilitate the narcotics purchase. With Honeyman monitoring, the CI went to Porter’s house, spending less than five minutes inside. Honeyman followed as the CI drove to a meeting place. The CI provided Honeyman with a small pink jeweler baggie containing a white crystal rock which later tested positive for methamphetamine.
The informant told Honeyman about seeing multiple empty jeweler baggies as well as a much larger “rock” of methamphetamine and scales in the residence. The CI also reported seeing two AR-15 style rifles and a single barrel shotgun. According to the affidavit, the CI said Porter is selling meth to pay her and her husband’s bills.
A felony arrest warrant has been issued for Porter.
