The legislative session is just a few short weeks away, so it’s time for me to get back to writing my regular column to inform you of what is going on at the State Capitol.
We’ve had two years of increased revenues to fund state services. This year, however, because of a slowdown in oil and gas, we expect to have a relatively flat budget year when compared to last year. That being said, we still have $8.3 billion to work with, which is still sufficient cover our budgetary needs.
