Consultants recommend renovating Docking state building

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Consultants have recommended the state spend more than $100 million to renovate the Docking State Office Building in Topeka, in part to consolidate state agencies in the building adjacent to the Kansas Capitol.

The Kansas Department of Administration report released Tuesday to at Kansas Senate committee rejected a proposal made during former Gov. Sam Brownback's administration to demolish the building. Brownback officials moved about 1,000 state employees to four locations in Topeka.
