Jodie Bradford, Alva's new Chamber of Commerce director, is excited to serve Alva, a place she's happy to call home.

Stop by the Alva Chamber of Commerce and you'll see the same bright, smiling face of Jodie Bradford, but this time in a new role – the former Chamber executive assistant has been named director.

Though the title is new, the territory is not. Since 2011, Bradford has been on the scene as a key representative of the Chamber advocating for business owners and employers in the community. The '05 Waynoka graduate (and '09 NWOSU grad) said she considers herself progressive; she plans to hold on to what has worked well in the past while also implementing new ideas. Her goal is to work to promote and strengthen the communities by building prosperity through a healthy economy and a strong business sector. A focal point will continue to be "shop local."

Being the first line of contact to a newcomer is exciting for her, Bradford said. "I love talking and meeting new people. One of my favorite parts of working at the Chamber is when a family or someone who is moving to town stops by. I love being one of the first people that they meet!"

The Chamber's open door isn't just for those new to town – Bradford welcomes anybody and everybody to stop by and say hello. A self-proclaimed "great resource," the new director said she loves being in the know and is happy to use her wide network to help connect people for Alva's common good.

"This job was made for me. It is a great honor that I am the new director of the Alva Chamber of Commerce," she said. "I want the best for Alva; I will also work hard on preserving the legacy of successful events while working on new ideas to help our Chamber members and citizens of Alva!"
