Following a Tuesday night win, the Alva Goldbugs met the Perry Maroons in the first round of the Cashion Countyline Tournament Thursday afternoon. In their last meeting, Perry came out on top 49-30, and the margin was nearly the same Thursday. The Maroons won 58-41.

The Goldbugs tied the game at four in the first quarter before Perry slowly pulled away to lead 12-9 at the buzzer. The second quarter was very similar. Although Alva never gained the lead, they trailed by only seven, 24-17 at the half.
