Kansas clerk sentenced to prison for stealing public funds

MARYSVILLE, Kan. (AP) — A former Marshall County clerk accused of stealing of public funds has been sentenced to more than two years in prison, the Kansas attorney general's office said Monday.

Sonya L. Stohs, 44, of Marysville, pleaded guilty in November in Marshall County District Court to one count of felony misuse of public funds.

District Judge John L. Weingart sentenced her on Monday to serve 32 months in prison and ordered her to pay more than $372,000 in restitution to the county as well as pay other investigative and court costs.
