Alva School Board hears strategic plan updates

Although tax revenues from oil and gas production are down $808,000 from last year, Alva School Superintendent Tim Argo thinks overall revenue will meet the estimate of needs for the current year. He showed school board members a chart tracking last year’s revenue, this year’s revenue and this year’s estimate of needs. One column listed a percentage representing the amount collected compared to the estimate of needs. So far ad valorem tax is at 87 percent while county mortgage tax is at 140 percent. Gross production is at 40 percent.
