Fabric becomes art at Graceful Arts Gallery

Quilting has evolved from a way to use up scraps of cloth into a celebration of artistic expression. This month the Graceful Arts Gallery in Alva is featuring "Fabrics of the Heartland." The Scrap Pack Quilt Guild from Kansas is displaying quilts and other textile artworks.

The Gallery will be open tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. for the First Friday Artwalk to show off their newest display. Colorful quilts line the walls while tables show smaller works. Artist Jo Carr will demonstrate her work on "English Paper Making/Piecing" and Textile Artist Teresa Farrar will demonstrate "Wool Appliques." Refre...
