Woods County 4-H Shooting Sports members participate at state contest

On Saturday, Feb. 1, three Woods County 4-H members competed at the State 4-H Air Rifle and Air Pistol Shoot in Fairview.

Nathan Andrews receives second place in the Senior Genesis Bow Division from National and Oklahoma 4-H Shooting Sports Ambassador Lucy Wilson.

Austin Rankin, Waynoka 4-H, received 8th overall in Senior Air Rifle. Thomas Mathes, Waynoka 4-H, placed 10th in Senior Air Rifle as well. Abbigail Clayton, Waynoka 4-H, competed in the Junior Air Rifle while attaining a new personal best. The Woods County Air Pistol and Air Rifle team is coached by John Mathes.

Competing in the State Archery Shoot was Woods County 4-H member, Nathan Andrews, from the Alva 4-H, who placed 2nd in the Senior Genesis Bow Division with a score of 115. The Woods County Archery team is coached by Dustin Rankin.

This competition brings the 4-H Shooting Sports season to a close for the Woods County 4-H. A special thanks goes out to all the leaders, members and volunteers who supported the 4-H Shooting Sports program and all the members involved.
