Stephen Lynn Farney was born May 14, 1950, in Wichita, Kansas, to Phyllis Erline Farney and passed from this life on February 11, 2020, at his home in Enid. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1968.

Following high school graduation, he attended Northern Oklahoma College then later pursued an associate degree at Wichita State University. He married Debra Frech on September 20, 1975. He worked as a service manager for Holderby Ford Garage.
