Lamont man injured in collision

A Lamont man was injured in a Grant County collision on Friday, Feb. 14. The wreck occurred at 11:20 a.m. on SH74 and Craig Road approximately two miles north of Salt Fork.

Kenneth Charles Vallot, 47, of Lafayette, California, was driving a 2006 Peterbilt with an oversized load northbound on SH74 north of the Salt Fork River Bridge. Earl Lowell Schuyler III, 74, of Lamont, was southbound on SH74. Schuyler said he did not see the oversized load and struck it.

Schuyler was pinned in his vehicle and was extricated by the Lamont Fire Department using the Jaws of Life. He was transported by Pond Creek EMS to Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid where he was admitted in stable condition with head and arm injuries.

OHP Trooper Joshua Byrd investigated, assisted by Troopers Seth Sturgeon and Carter Mathews along with Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
