WILMA JEAN 'Jeanie' YOHN

Graveside services for Wilma Jean "Jeanie" Yohn will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2020, at the Alva Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Drew Kirtley and Rev. Ron Pingelton officiating. Interment is under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Wilma Jean "Jeanie" Yohn, daughter of the late Harry Earnest and Maudie (Hiett) Steward, was born on the family farm north of Cora in Woods County, Oklahoma, and passed away February 19, 2020, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years, 5 months and 20 days.

Jeanie attended Whitehorse School, then attended Farry High School. On September 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Eugene "Gene" Yohn in the First Christian Church in Alva. They lived northwest of Alva until 1985, when they moved to Alva. She bought and sold antiques most of her life, even during the tenure that she lived at Beadle's Nursing Home.

She was a member of the First Christian Church. Jeanie belonged to the Town and Country Home Extension Club for over 50 years. She also helped with elections in the McKeever Precinct.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene in 2003; one son Jackie Gene Yohn; one grandson Scott Daniel Gaskill; one great-grandson Braden Scott Gaskill; four brothers, Harry Lou "Stu" Steward, Lester Lawrence "Boad" Steward, Marion Wayne Steward, and Wilbur "Bub" Steward; and three sisters, Della Pearl Benningfield, Ruby Baxter, and Freda Gertrude Thomas.

Jeanie is survived by three daughters, Sherry Gaskill of Longdale, Oklahoma, Sandra McAlester and husband, Larry, of Durant, and Shirley Ayers and husband, Jim, of Emporia, Kansas; and one sister, Verna Lee Blevins and husband, Ricky, of Garden Grove, California.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Cody Gaskill and wife, Christy, of Oklahoma City, Stephanie Crawford and husband Myles, of Franklin, Tennessee, Steven West and wife, Mary, of Beaverton, Oregon, Brandon Ayers and wife, Leigh, of Emporia, Kansas, Shelley Goede and husband, Siegmar, of Emporia, and Jamie Hoyt and husband, John, of Emporia; seven great-grandchildren, Eryka Gaskill, Shane Gaskill, Sebastian Crawford, Bella West, Olive West, Grayson Hoyt, and Piper Hoyt; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Beadles Nursing Home Activity Fund or the First Christian Church Women's Fellowship.
