Gas prices tick up in New Jersey, around nation

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Drivers in New Jersey and around the nation saw prices at the pump go up for the first time in several weeks amid rising domestic wholesale gasoline and global crude oil prices.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.49, up a penny from a week ago. Drivers were paying $2.42 a gallon a year ago at this time.
The national average gas price Friday was $2.46, up three cents from a week ago. A year ago, motorists were paying $2.37 a gallon.
