Kansas murderer dies on same day he is admitted to prison

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A Kansas man convicted of killing his roommate in Parsons with a machete died the same day he was admitted to prison, state corrections officials said Wednesday.

Timothy Russell Moses, 60, died Tuesday afternoon at El Dorado Correctional Facility, prison spokeswoman Jarris Perkins said. His death is under investigation.

He had been admitted to the prison earlier Tuesday, according to corrections department records, The Wichita Eagle reported.
