Woman hit by suspect fleeing from Kansas City police dies

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Raytown woman whose car was hit by an allegedly drunk driver during a police chase last week has died.

Kansas City police announced Friday that Rebecca White, 38, had died. She and her 3-year-old daughter were stopped at a red light on Feb. 19 when a driver fleeing from police went through an intersection and struck her vehicle. Her daughter was seriously injured by survived.

The fleeing driver, 32-year-old Miguel Ayala, currently is charged with felony DWI with serious injury and felony fleeing from police. He is being held in the Jackson County Detention Center on $...
