Newton bill on young offenders, based on BJCC successes, up for House vote

 


The House wrapped up committee work last week for all House bills. We’ve heard hundreds of bills over the past month in various committees. Those that did not pass by the Feb. 27 deadline – other than those proposed later by the speaker of the House or the budget chair – are considered dead.

So far, we’ve passed 469 House Bills, one House Joint Resolution and one Senate Bill in committee.

Once bills pass in committee they are eligible to be considered by the entire House before they move to the Senate. We’ve passed 26 off the House Floor up to this time. The main reason for that is the schedul...
