Alfalfa County renews interlocal agreements

March 11, 2020

True to bureaucratic form, the Alfalfa County commissioners spent a good portion of their morning signing heaps of paperwork.

Jay Hague, Stan Tucker, and Marvin Woodall convened at 10 a.m. to begin the signing process, starting with the maintenance and operation payment warrants, blanket purchase orders, and monthly officer reports. All those items were reviewed and approved and before moving on, the trio happily signed off on some road-crossing permits for Woodall's District 3, totaling $3,500.

Next on the agenda were interlocal agreements (collaborative contracts between public bodies aiming to provide more efficient, less costly public services). The agreements are between Alfalfa County and the following entities: Town of Helena; Town of Jet; Town of Goltry; Town of Carmen; Town of Aline; Town of Burlington; Town of Amorita; Town of Byron; Timberlake Public School; Burlington Public School; Cherokee Public School.

After that paperwork was completed, the last two agenda items were approved – a resolution for disposing of a 2012 John Deere Excavator 210G/Trackhoe (Inv. no. 332-209, Serial no. 1FF210GXPCE520095) and a court clerk preservation fund created in county clerk's accounts for a cash voucher account.
