You can bite into a delicious piece of pizza made with VAP crust Sunday. At the same time your donation will benefit Kansas Honor Flight for veterans. You can pick yours up at Yur Place in Hardtner. Pre-orders are requested.

If you love the tender and fluffy with just the right crunch pizza crusts made at the Value Added Products (VAP) plant in Alva, don't miss your chance to sink your teeth into a slice Sunday afternoon.

Add the generous toppings created by Syd Sterling and her crew at Yur Place in Hardtner and you can't resist.

Sunday, March 15, 1-5 p.m., Yur Place will be a hub as veterans, including motorcycle groups and others congregate to visit, help make pizza and have fun. Organizers of the Kansas Honor Flight will be on hand to visit with you as this is a fundraiser to support their work that is an admirable as the red, white and blue.

The Newsgram has featured many stories about area veterans who get to take this once-in-a-lifetime, whirlwind trip to Washington D.C., at absolutely no charge. Traveling with fellow veterans and the Kansas Honor Flight staff and volunteers, the group sees war memorials and other historical monuments in D.C. The veterans are treated like royalty and showered with some welcome surprises along the way.

Sterling encourages pre-orders for pizza this week. To order call 620-296-4477. She also recommends you Take and Bake your pizza as she has limited oven space. Bake on 400 degrees for approximately 20 minutes or until nicely browned.
