22 AHS students inducted into National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) at Alva High School inducted 22 new members on March 9.
NHS President Delaney Lambert (along with other officers Katherine Ryerson, vice president; Zachary Wallis, secretary; Jaedyn Gleyre, treasurer; and Madison Buckley, parliamentarian) lit candles and explained the values of the National Honor Society: character, scholarship, leadership and service.
Members – eligible to join their sophomore, junior, and senior years of high school – must maintain a 3.6 GPA and fill out an application.
The National Honor Society at AHS is sponsored by Misty Beiswanger. "All of the members are excellent role models and active in school activities," Beiswanger said. "They all seem to mold into the four qualities that are in the torch [the NHS Emblem] – character, scholarship, leadership, service."
Dr. Halah Simon and Crystal Murrow serve on the advisory board for Alva High School.
