Some solid God stuff

March 13, 2020

A few passages of Scripture come immediately to mind:

Throw yourself down, for God will give His angels charge over you and you will not dash your foot against a stone (or perhaps) let anyone among you who thinks that he stands, take heed lest ye fall (or) remember the height from which you have fallen and repent! And there are so many more – just ask my "friends."

If you missed the memo, I managed to fall 20 feet from the attic of the old Otterbein meeting house, where we reside, and, along with several broken bones, came away with some solid God stuff. By the way, to those of you who grew up worshiping in that beautiful building, I'm sorry I punched a hole in the ceiling.

Lesson one. No guarantees. I was with my intern doing work on an old house of worship and looking forward to the first Annual A Capella Picnic at College Hill. Seconds later I was bloody and broken. Mind you. I was not afraid. I have learned to trust God's plan, but I was severely underprepared to leave a bunch of stuff unfinished.

Lesson two. God has a bunch of amazing people at His call. Thank you for all you have done, for me, because of Him. See you soon.
