AMS February Students of the Month

AMS February Students of the Month are (from left) Endy Barraza, Autumn Rose, Addisann Weber, Joseph Cox, Skylar Freeman and Aiden Ruiz.

The teachers at Alva Middle School have selected Skylar Freeman and Aiden Ruiz, eighth grade; Addisann Weber and Joseph Cox, seventh grade; and Autumn Rose and Endy Barraza, sixth grade, as AMS Students of the Month for February.

Skylar Freeman is in eighth grade and is the daughter of Kim and Larry Burger. Her grandparents are Vaugh and Elsa Caldwell. Her favorite classes are history, home ec, and tech ed. She is involved in choir. In the future, she would like to be a veterinarian. Additionally she loves hanging out with friends and is an animal lover.

Aiden Ruiz is in eighth grade and is the son of Holly and James Hoffman. His favorite classes at AMS are history and athletics. He is involved in student council, baseball and basketball In the future, he would like to be a basketball player.

Addisann Weber is in seventh grade and is the daughter of Amanda and Jack Jones, and Tracy and Ginger Weber. Her grandparents are Sherrie and John Kutz. Her favorite classes are math and basketball. She is involved in 4-H, basketball, track and showing pigs. In the future, she would like to be a physical therapist.

Joseph Cox is in seventh grade and is the son of Scotty and Mary Cox. His grandfather is Jim Cox. His favorite classes are social studies and band. He is involved in baseball and the Praise and Worship group at church. In the future, he would like to be an EMT.

Autumn is in sixth grade and is the daughter of Levi Rose, Crystal Rose, and Amanda Kreis. Her grandparents are Max and Mary Rose and Lana Courtney. Her favorite classes are English/language arts and computer applications. She is involved in basketball and track. In the future, she would like to be a paramedic. Additionally she is a sister to three amazing brothers and one sister and enjoys the time she spends with her stepmom Amanda.

Endy Barraza is in sixth grade and is the son of Julie and Shane Lehr, and Effrain and Brooke Johnson Barraza. His grandparents are Patsy and Tom Fisher, Steve and Sheila Lehr, and Stormy Johnson. His favorite classes are science and band. He is involved in track and 12-and-under baseball. In the future, he would like to be an astronomer or astronaut. Additionally he enjoys going to The Printing Shop, his dad's T-shirt shop, and Lehr's Body Shop, his stepdad's business, and offering shameless plugs to those businesses.

These students received lunch provided by Gambino's Pizza as an extension of the AMS Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Program implemented in the Alva Public Schools.
