DCP tax protest settled for Woods County

Four years of Woods County tax appeals by DCP Operating Company LP were settled Wednesday in rulings handed down by District Court Judge Justin Eilers.

DCP, a natural gas company based in Denver, Colorado, was protesting the tax assessments placed on their property by Woods County Assessor Renetta Benson. DCP was represented by attorney William K. Elias of Elias, Books, Brown & Nelson, P.C. of Oklahoma City. Benson was represented by Mart Tisdal of Tisdal & O’Hara, PLLC of Clinton.

The rulings set an assessed value for each year protested. For 2016 that value is $12,798,524. For 2017 it is $14...
