Once again, the First Presbyterian Church of Alva Youth Group gave freely of its time to improve the community. On Thursday, March 12, several members of the youth group and their youth director, Greg Smith, volunteered their time and energy at the Alva City Pool. Their tools of choice for this day were brooms, shovels and scrapers.

Despite this being labor-intensive work, these young people did not shy away from the hard work. All their efforts, and the efforts of numerous other volunteers will help get the pool prepped in order to make repairs and get the pool up and running this summer.

"These young men, members of the First Presbyterian Youth Group, are 'Rock Stars' once again," said Youth Director Smith. "They volunteered their time to help with this community project in order to get the Alva City Pool on its way to opening this summer. They never disappoint when there is a task that needs to get done. They do not fail to support their awesome community and its citizens! If you see these young men, please acknowledge their hard work and dedication to make this world a better place. I am so PROUD of our First Presbyterian Youth Group!"
