NWOSU classes online for remainder of spring semester

March 27, 2020

Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva announced Wednesday that classes will go online for the remainder of the semester. The move is in response to Gov. Stitt’s address on Tuesday, according to a letter posted by Dr. Janet Cunningham, university president.

Following spring break, classes were slated to be taught by alternative methods from March 23 through April 3. University faculty will now extend those methods through the remainder of the spring semester.

Dr. Cunningham encouraged faculty, staff and students to stay at home as much as possible. However, residence halls will remain open for those who need to continue living there. The Coronado Café will continue to serve meals to those with meal plans. Students who have personal items in the residence halls may arrange to pick those up by contacting housing at 580-327-8418. Information will be provided later regarding refunds or credit toward room and board.

The university is suspending all in-person meetings and events with greater than ten attendees on all campuses. Spring graduation ceremonies are postponed.
