Oklahoma flags lowered to half-staff in honor of Tom Coburn

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt on Monday ordered all Oklahoma flags to be lowered to half staff in honor of the late U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn.

All flags on state property are to be lowered Monday in remembrance of Coburn, according to a news release from the governor's office.

"We lost a giant – an Oklahoma legend," Stitt said in a statement. "Dr. Coburn devoted his life to serving others both by way of his career as a physician and by tirelessly fighting for our country as a true statesman."
