Making use of time at home

 


Saturday I spoke on the phone with an Alva woman who described herself as elderly. She was spending a lot of time at home. She became emotional as she described how much it meant to her to see the long parade of cars Thursday. The parade, which wove in and out along residential streets, was put on by Alva teachers to encourage and lift the spirits of students who have been out of school since March 12.

The caller wanted to let them know how much it meant to her. Her call was a reminder that many people may be feeling lonely as they spend more time at home alone. This is a good time to check on...
