State legislators for Woods County were unopposed in election filings held Wednesday through Friday, April 8-10. Representative Carl Newton of Cherokee, a Republican, was the only candidate filing for District 58. Senator Casey Murdock of Felt, also a Republican, was unopposed in District 27.

Senator Roland Pederson of Burlington drew an opponent from Enid, David M. Mason. Both are filed as Republicans so that election will be determined in the June 30 primary.
