Bond $1M for Kansas man in killings of girlfriend, her child

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A judge on Monday set a $1 million bond for a Kansas man charged with capital murder in the shooting deaths of his girlfriend and her 8-year-old daughter, according to the Sedgwick County district attorney's office.

Daniel Lopez, 25, was wanted on capital murder charges until police arrested him Friday at a home in Wichita without incident.

An Associated Press request for comment to Lopez' public defender, Tim Friedan, was not immediately returned Monday.
