In a statement on social media, Share Medical Center CEO Kandice Allen announced the medical center has had its first positive COVID-19 test in Alva.

“We can be proud of the efforts the community has taken to keep everyone safe from COVID-19, but in all honesty, this was inevitable. It is likely that COVID-19 has been in our community and just hasn’t been detected until now,” Allen stated.

She wrote, “It is worth noting that there have been many negative tests on people with symptoms, but the one positive test in Alva did not have symptoms.”
