Alva Church of God

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Nathan Braudrick. Alva Church of God is located at 517 Ninth St. in Alva and can be found on the web at http://www.AlvaChurchOfGod.org.

Sunday: Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. Evening worship begins at 5:30 p.m. Young adults gather at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday: Wednesday services include 7 p.m. Bible Study, and youth group also meets at 7 p.m.

Alva Friends Church

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m .; coffee and donut fellowship at 10:10 a.m .; worship at 10:30 a.m. However, all of our in-person meetings have been temporarily postponed. These will resume once the CDC gives the go-ahead.

Alva Friends Church is on the corner of College Avenue and Center Street.

Barnes Street Church of Christ

Sunday worship services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. (7 p.m. during daylight savings time). Visitors are most welcome to attend the worship services. For more information, contact Andrew Rhodes (327-3368) and Brian Gaddy (327-5130).

Bible Baptist Church

Bible Baptist Church will continue to suspend all services at the church this week at the recommendation of our government and for the protection of those who worship with us.

Drive-in church starts at 10:30 a.m. at Alva's Market parking lot. Special music, Bible-centered preaching, and something special for our children, all from the safety of your car.

Our service on Sunday morning and our devotional time on Wednesday night will be live-streamed through the church Facebook page.

Our response team is in place and is available to assist our community in this time. If you need assistance, prayer or help with errands, please give us a call at 327-1582 or 430-9219.

Rest assured that when this crisis is over, Bible Baptist will be ready to restart all of our ministries. We are praying for you at this time.

Capron United Methodist Church

Come visit us at the little church on the prairie. Church service at 9:30 a.m.

Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church

Pastor Nathan Hosier and the Cedar Grove family invite you and your family to come this Sunday to worship with us. Our service will be a drive-in service with Pastor Nathan sharing a message about doubt. Come and worship with us while staying in your vehicle. We know that you may have to stay home, so we will live stream the service. Search for Cedar Grove on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you.

We are a country church that serves Christ and community with agape love. Come join us every Sunday for Sunday school at 10 a.m. (temporarily online, search for Barbara Faulkner on Facebook) and worship service will be at 11 a.m. We also have a group study Sunday evening at 6 p.m. at the church (temporarily canceled).

Our Worker Appreciation Truck Stop continues every other Tuesday from 9am to noon at the church. Stop by and see us. The ladies sewing group meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month in Hardtner.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Alva Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has temporarily suspended all services and meetings as directed by church leaders in Salt Lake City. The temporary closures are in response to the COVID-19 threat.

Members are encouraged to continue gospel study at home with their families, using the Come Follow Me for Individuals and Families manuals.

The church has also temporarily closed all public spaces and buildings on historic Temple Square in Salt Lake as well as other historic sites around the country and temples throughout the world, including the Oklahoma City Temple.

College Hill Church of Christ

Sunday Bible class for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Following the weekly fellowship lunch, the afternoon service will begin at 12:45 p.m. Don't miss a Sunday with our great Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Notice: All meetings have been canceled until further notice.

Dacoma United Methodist Church

Everyone is welcome. Fellowship coffee and doughnuts are at 8:45 a.m. Worship service with Rev. Don Jones is at 9 a.m.

eXtreme Youth Center

The eXtreme, located at 425 College Ave. in Alva, is a ministry of Hopeton Church. Students in sixth through 12th grade are invited to come hang out, play games, work on homework and enjoy time with friends after school from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The eXtreme is available to rent for parties and events. First Assembly of God

First Baptist Church

Sunday: 9:15 a.m. small groups, 10:30 a.m. morning worship with nursery provided.

Tuesday: Noon Brown Bag Bible Study. Bring your lunch and enjoy the fellowship.

Wednesday: 3 p.m. Sharing at Share Convalescent Home, 6 p.m. Youth (7th grade and up).

First Christian Church

Sunday, April 19: Worship service will be on Facebook Live at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Drew Kirtley will bring the message “Prove It,” based on John 20:19-31. First Christian Church of Alva, out of concern for the health of the congregation and in compliance with the CDC guidelines, has canceled services at the church for the time being. To join the online service, go to the Alva First Christian Church page on Facebook at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

At 6 p.m. Sunday evening will be a COVID-19 Response Meeting. This special board meeting will take place on Zoom (those unable to access a computer are welcome to sit six feet apart in the sanctuary). Its purpose will be to discuss ideas about how the church can respond to the needs of those in the community during this time.

Monday, April 20: Quilting and prayer blankets will continue from home and will resume meetings at a later date.

Wednesday, April 21: Lunchtime Devotion with Pastor Drew will be on Facebook Live at noon. Bring your lunch and a Bible! Regular meetings will continue at a later date.

First Presbyterian Church

Sunday: Worship at 10:50 a.m. via First Presbyterian Church of Enid's live-stream on Facebook (www.facebook.com/fpcenid) and YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7jODvrJ9Fj9ORxQ3fBi3JA). Readings will be Psalm 16, John 20:19-31. Rev. Dr. Andrew Long will bring the message, “Remembering the Oklahoma City Bombing.”

First United Methodist Church

All onsite services, classes and events are canceled until further notice.

Services will be online:

Sunday morning worship service will be posted on Facebook and linked to our website, alvafumc.com, at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Grace and Faith Fellowship

Grace and Faith Fellowship has suspended public church services for the duration of the current health crisis. Online services may be accessed at GraceandFaithFellowship.com.

Hopeton Church

Hopeton is a “come as you are” church! Located a few miles south of Alva on Highway 281, Sunday service starts at 10 a.m. Come early for coffee and fellowship. LIVE every Sunday morning on Facebook.

Nazarene Church

Donut and coffee fellowship is at 9:15 each Sunday morning, Bible study for ages 6 and up at 9:30, and worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Nursery is available for children under age 6 during worship. Missions lessons for ages 6 through fifth grade are held the second and fourth Sundays of the month.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church

The celebration of Holy Mass (Jesus in the Eucharist) is the source of our spiritual nourishment. Rev. Father Bala, Sagili Jesudas, is the parish priest (pastor) of Sacred Heart in Alva and its missions in Cherokee and Waynoka. You are welcome; be a part of the Sacred Heart Parish family.

Saturday: Waynoka services at Our Mother of Mercy Church include Sacrament of Confession at 4:30 p.m. and Holy Mass (Eucharist) at 5 p.m.

Sunday: Alva services at Sacred Heart Church include Sacrament of Confession at 8:15 a.m., Holy Rosary (1 and 3 Sundays) at 8:30 a.m., Holy Mass (Eucharist) at 9 a.m. Cherokee services at Saint Cornelius Church include Holy Rosary at 11 a.m. (all Sundays), Sacrament of Confession at 11:15 a.m., and Holy Mass (Eucharist) at 11:30 a.m.

Town and Country Christian Church

We will not be having services Sunday at Town and Country Christian Church due to COVID-19 virus outbreak, we will be doing a message on facebook live @ Town and Country Christian church facebook page at 11:00 am. Wednesday evening Youth Group has also been canceled.

Zion Lutheran Church

Please join us on Sundays for Sunday school and worship with us at Zion Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) at Third and Maple streets.

Sundays school (children and adults) begins at 9:15 a.m. Fellowship is at 10 a.m. Worship starts at 10:30 a.m. with Communion on the first and third Sundays. During Advent and Lent, Zion holds Wednesday services at 7 p.m.

Weekly Happenings: Weekday School (grades 4-6) meets on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Handbells practice Mondays at 5 p.m.

Monthly meetings: Pitch Group (first Sunday evening of the month), Ruth Circle (first Monday of the month at noon), LWML (first Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.), Seasoned Saints (third Tuesday at 1 p.m.), Youth Group.
