Trees are lovely, and Alva has a lot of them. Thanks to the work of the Tree Board, we’ve received a Tree City Award year after year.

Grants have been received to propagate the rec center and to line the access roads. Many of our old-growth trees are over 100 and add habitat for the many squirrels and birds that flourish here. I’m always fascinated by the weeping willows that are sparsely located around town and there are even magnolias, not meant for this climate, but surviving nonetheless.
