Correction: Schools share DCP tax settlement with other entities

In the Freedom Call on April 16 and the Alva Review-Courier on April 17, it was reported that Woods County public schools would be splitting nearly a half million dollars in the settlement of a four year tax protest. Woods County Assessor Renetta Benson told us this was incorrect. The tax settlement will be split with other entities collecting ad valorem taxes such as the health department, the county and the career tech.
