Barber County plants community gardens

While everything is different this year, both Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and Kiowa, Kansas, are working to plant community gardens under a guide developed by Purdue University.

This year the gardens will have additional rules on working and harvesting to help keep everybody safe. There will be no work nights; rather, lists of things needing to be done will be available. Families will need to bring their own tools to work with planting, weeding and harvesting.

All of these changes will make the gardens challenging but having fresh produce available free to everyone is important during the summer....
