Perhaps it wasn’t a good idea to write about mistakes in last week’s column. Tuesday evening as we prepared to print the Newsgram containing that column, a staff member discovered a very bad mistake. This was in the final seconds before we started up the printing press. Dropping one letter from a word can make a huge difference in meaning!

Of course, the error had to be in a color full page ad. We called a couple of people to return to the office to fix the mistake. We had to remove four metal plates from the press and throw them away, one for each color (cyan, magenta, yellow and black).
