NWTC practical nursing students win state contest

Northwest Technology Center practical nursing students Haley Troutt and Kamri Theis placed first in the Oklahoma HOSA Contest in the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) event. The results were announced in a Virtual HOSA Awards Ceremony last week. Troutt and Theis will move on to the Virtual International HOSA contest later this summer.

Other practical nursing students who placed include Franchesca Barnes and Brisa Montes who placed fifth in the CPR/first aid team event, Hannah Horn who placed fourth in clinical nursing, and Alanna Nacion who placed fifth in the medical math event.

Instructors for the practical nursing program at NWTC are Karlea Irvin and Tara Thomas.
