Illuminated headlights surround the South Barber Chieftain Football Field Friday night as the community shows support of the Class of 2020 seniors.

This coming Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m., South Barber High School in Kiowa, Kansas, will set school history with a non-traditional graduation. This is a culmination of a year that has wrecked the traditional spring semester of the Class of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic that has essentially closed down the U.S. economy and life as Americans know it for the last two and a half months. School buildings across the nation were closed in an effort to stop spread of the highly contagious virus. This meant no prom, no track or tennis, no spring music programs, no activities and possibly no awar...
