Happy Mother's Day

Mothers, step-mothers, grandmothers. surrogate mothers, a mother/grandmother to your child's friends, any man that does the mother job, or a sibling that steps up for the family. If I left anyone out, I am sorry. Thank you to one and all for making life so much better for all of us. If your mother has passed away, find comfort in the good memories of her wisdom and unconditional love.

This week the KFOR-TV segment titled "Is this a great state or what?' featured a Dacoma/Alva family, the Whittets. Six generations of the Whittets have fed the area forever. It was very good and interesting and can be found on their website.

The crazy is all around us. In Texas a salon owner was given seven days in jail and fined over $3,000 for opening her business several days early. She was out of food for her kids and bills running up, and had to work. The judge, however, is on the state's payroll and isn't going to miss any meals anytime soon.

In one Oklahoma town, a person was told if he disobeyed the quarantine order and went fishing by himself, he would be arrested. At an Oklahoma City McDonald's, a lady shot three employees when she was not allowed to sit in the dining area. The only good thing for her is where she is going they have dining areas. We had crazy and stupid before the panic, but it's a shame people cannot put some common sense to this life.

On “60 Minutes” last Sunday was a segment about all the help the farmers are getting. I was ticked before it was over. Once years ago the government threw money at the farmers to save them. There was a list online of the amounts paid out. Some farming corporations (local) through manipulation got into the millions of dollars, while small farmers that really needed the money got nearly nothing.

It’s the same thing this time. In theory every farmer was to get so much money. Our stupid government fixed it so you could make your cat a partner and it could collect the amount. One farm had three different corporations and got over five million dollars. The money was robbed by these "farmers" and the little guys got squat. One farm had 68 members, with some of them living in big cities and had never been to the farms.

First the legislators that made this free money plan are idiots, and probably friends with the big farmers. Spend some money on investigators and any "farmers" that took advantage of the loopholes with fraud to cheat fellow farmers out of a share at the least should give back the money, and at the very most be prosecuted for fraud. Just because the government is run by non-thinking idiots, you should not be allowed to take advantage of the program.

Maybe a better way to dispense the money is to look at tax forms. Give it out according to what you make or lose in a year to be fair to everyone. I am not saying that big farmers should not get money, because I'm sure most could use the help, but let's have a level playing field for all. One person said that a small percentage of big farms produce most of our food supplies. Does anyone wonder how many small farms have been squeezed out by large corporations that get all the government help?

My buddy Bubba said he got his stimulus check and bought poultry with it. He said it all reminded him of an old Dire Strait's song, “Money For Nothing and the Chicks For Free.”

A cat dies and at the pearly gates St. Peter asks him what he would like for his good behavior reward. His answer was a satin pillow to sleep on because he had to sleep on the floor on Earth. Sure enough at his heavenly house is a fine satin pillow. A couple of days later ten mice show up. Again, St. Peter asked what they would like. One spoke up immediately and said "roller skates" because they had to run for their lives all the time on earth and it would be fun to go fast. Three days later St. Peter is walking around and sees the cat. "How do you like heaven so far,” he asks. The cat told him it was great. He had a nice house, a fine satin pillow to sleep on, and he greatly appreciated the "meals-on-wheels."
