Police: Man killed while detaining juveniles in hit-and-run

 


TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — A 17-year-old youth involved in a hit-and-run collision was arrested in the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man who witnessed the crash and then located and detained three other juveniles involved in the wreck, Tempe police said Saturday.

Joseph Delegge was shot Friday in a parking where he and the driver of a car involved in the nearby crash located three of five juveniles who had been in the other vehicle, a Police Department statement said.

Delegge was armed with a handgun which he displayed first to the three juveniles and then to the 17-year-old when that youth arrived...
