Oklahoma Natural Gas donates to Alva Food Bank during COVID-19 pandemic
May 15, 2020
Oklahoma Natural Gas, a division of ONE Gas, Inc., recently gave a $500 donation to the Alva Wesleyan Food Bank. The food bank provides emergency relief assistance to residents who can’t afford to buy enough food and now the situation is worse because of COVID-19.
“Oklahoma Natural Gas is committed to making Alva a better place to live,” said Martie Oyler, Regional Community Relations manager for Oklahoma Natural Gas. “The Alva Wesleyan Food Bank is a great resource for grocery assistance serving families in Alva and the surrounding areas and we are proud to partner with them to make life a bit easier during these times.”
The food bank has seen an increase in need during the pandemic. In March they served 200 families – a significant increase due to job layoffs in the oil and gas industry. “We are blessed to have great partnerships in our community. We truly appreciate Oklahoma Natural Gas for being able to join in this partnership to help us serve people in northwest Oklahoma,” said Jennifer Marston, director of the Alva Food Bank.
