WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Two people are in custody after a drug deal led to a shooting that left one man dead and another in critical condition, Wichita police said.
Missy Barber, 20, and Preston Reynolds, 19, were each booked into jail on possible charges of first-degree murder and aggravated battery, police spokesman Charley Davidson said Friday.
The shooting occurred Thursday at a Wichita apartment complex. Police found a 21-year-old man dead at the scene and a 19-year-old critically injured. Both men were shot several times, Davidson said.
Reynolds was arrested about 30 minutes after the shooting when he went to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg. Investigators later arrested Barber.
