Although some communities are canceling their 4th of July plans, the Alva Rotary Club plans to proceed with a modified celebration. Jesse Kline calls it an old-fashioned 4th with fireworks as the main, actually only, feature.
Due to health concerns and social distancing issues, the all day activities and free meals in Hatfield Park have been canceled. Kline said since the Alva swimming pool remains closed indefinitely, a big part of the fun was unavailable anyway.
