Alva Church of God

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Nathan Braudrick. Alva Church of God is located at 517 Ninth St. in Alva and can be found on the web at http://www.AlvaChurchOfGod.org.

Sunday: Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. Evening worship begins at 5:30 p.m. Young adults gather at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday: Wednesday services include 7 p.m. Bible Study, and youth group also meets at 7 p.m.

Alva Friends Church

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m .; coffee and donut fellowship at 10:10 a.m .; worship at 10:30 a.m. However, all of our in-person meetings have been temporarily postponed. These will resume once the CDC gives the go-ahead.

Alva Friends Church is on the corner of College Avenue and Center Street.

Barnes Street Church of Christ

Bible Baptist Church

Bible Baptist Church is back in our building! All children's ministries are on hold until June 7. If you are symptomatic, please do not come to the service. Feel free to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Our morning service begins at 11 a.m. There will be three ways to participate in our worship service. We will live stream our service over our Facebook page. Our front parking lot is reserved for those who want to listen from the safety of their car as we broadcast our worship service over an FM channel. Finally, we will be allowing worshippers into our building for regular services.

Our evening services will begin at 6 p.m. Again, we will be offering all three ways to participate.

Tuesdays: Celebrate Recovery will resume on Tuesday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-based recovery program to help provide a safe place to discover a Savior who can give freedom from hang-ups, hurts and habits. Everyone is invited to attend.

Wednesdays: Our Wednesday prayer meeting and Bible study begin at 7 p.m.

Capron United Methodist Church

Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church

Pastor Nathan Hosier and the Cedar Grove family invite you and your family to come this Sunday to worship with us. Our service is back inside our church building with Pastor Nathan sharing a message titled “Cold Camp Conditions.” We know that you may desire to stay home, so we will live stream the service. We are a country church that serves Christ and community with agape love. Come join us every Sunday for Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. (temporarily online, search for Barbara Faulkner on Facebook) and worship service will be at 11 a.m. We also have a group study Sunday evening at 6 p.m. at the church.

Our Worker Appreciation Truck Stop (suspended) is every other Tuesday from 9am to noon at the church. Stop by and see us. The ladies sewing group meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month in Hardtner.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Alva Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has temporarily suspended all services and meetings as directed by church leaders in Salt Lake City. The temporary closures are in response to the COVID-19 threat.

Members are encouraged to continue gospel study at home with their families, using the Come Follow Me for Individuals and Families manuals.

The church has also temporarily closed all public spaces and buildings on historic Temple Square in Salt Lake as well as other historic sites around the country and temples throughout the world, including the Oklahoma City Temple.

College Hill Church of Christ

eXtreme Youth Center

The eXtreme, located at 425 College Ave. in Alva, is a ministry of Hopeton Church. Students in sixth through 12th grade are invited to come hang out, play games, work on homework and enjoy time with friends after school from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The eXtreme is available to rent for parties and events. First Christian Church

Sunday: Worship service will be on Facebook Live at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Drew Kirtley will bring the message “Speaking God's Language,” based on Mark 14:3-9. Joe Shirley will read the Scripture. The Praise and Worship Team will consist of Sally Nighswonger, Emily Bohlen and Myra Davison. Philip and Connie Anton will count attendance.

First Christian Church of Alva, out of concern for the health of the congregation and in compliance with the CDC guidelines, has canceled services at the church for the time being. To join the online service, go to the Alva First Christian Church page on Facebook at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Monday: Quilting and prayer blankets will continue from home and will resume meetings at a later date.

Tuesday, June 2: Young Adult Fellowship via Zoom at 8 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church

First United Methodist Church

All onsite services, classes and events are canceled until further notice. Grace and Faith Fellowship

Nazarene Church

Donut and coffee fellowship is at 9:15 each Sunday morning, Bible study for ages 6 and up at 9:30, and worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Nursery is available for children under age 6 during worship. Missions lessons for ages 6 through fifth grade are held the second and fourth Sundays of the month.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church

The celebration of Holy Mass (Jesus in the Eucharist) is the source of our spiritual nourishment. Rev. Father Bala, Sagili Jesudas, is the parish priest (pastor) of Sacred Heart in Alva and its missions in Cherokee and Waynoka. You are welcome; be a part of the Sacred Heart Parish family.

Town and Country Christian Church

Zion Lutheran Church

Please join us on Sundays for Sunday school and worship with us at Zion Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) at Third and Maple streets.

Sundays school (children and adults) begins at 9:15 a.m. Fellowship is at 10 a.m. Worship starts at 10:30 a.m. with Communion on the first and third Sundays. During Advent and Lent, Zion holds Wednesday services at 7 p.m.
