Widow of Myers killed with bean bag round awarded $3.5 million

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) – Kansas officials will pay $3.5 million to the family of a man who was killed in 2017 with a homemade beanbag round fired by a Barber County undersheriff at close range.

"This is one of the toughest things I have ever had to do besides losing him and having to deal with being a widow," said Kristina Myers.

Bodycam footage from October 6, 2017, shows the moment Kristina's husband Steven Myers was killed after being shot by the Barber County Undersheriff with a bean bag gun.
