(THE CONVERSATION) I am a scientist who studies infectious diseases, specializing in severe respiratory infections. I also serve as a member of my church's safety team.

Over the past few weeks as states began to loosen restrictions, we have been discussing if and how to safely start services again. But the coronavirus is far from gone. As we try and figure out how to hold services while protecting our members, one question is of particular concern: How common is airborne spread...
